Hi there,
A combination of exercise and light massage is what works best.
Massage the knees with mustard oil with very slight pressure. The object is to ease the pain and not hurt it.
After the massage do a few exercises meant specifically for the knees such as bending the knees where you raise the knees till the chest and then straightening the leg. Do this one knee at a time.
Try rotating the knees one at a time, with the hands under the knee supporting it.
Walk at least 30 minutes a day.
Do all these exercises very slowly.
Also if she is overweight, she needs to work on reducing her weight since the knees take on the weight of the whole body.
Also avoid jerky movements. One jerky movement and it will be hurting more for a complete week.
Too much of fried and junk food is also not good for the joints. Restrict it to once or twice a week.
I hope this helps.

The Eastern systems treat the body as a whole, trying to fix the flow of chi/energy in your body. The belief is that problems are due to blockages or imbalances in the flow of energy. Acupuncture, where needles are inserted to stimulate certain meridian points, is designed to fix this flow of energy. It is not an instant cure, but if done by someone who knows his/her stuff, will cure in time. It is not just a treatment for pain even if acupuncture can be used to relieve pain. I would recommend you try and find out more about your acupuncture specialist from around you, whether he/she is good at what he/she does. Also, especially for the back, you could try yoga (hatha yoga) or tai-chi. These also focus on getting your energy flowing and will help you heal and remain in good health. Again the important thing is to choose a good teacher. This is especially true for you since you start with a bad back, so the programme of exercises/poses will have to be designed with that in mind, and any faults in your poses corrected immediately. I recommended the 'hatha' form of yoga because it focusses on breathing and gently stretching your body. So is great for people who are unfit or have injuries. When I started two years ago, I had shooting pains in my heels every morning and couldn't even touch my toes. I improved my nutrition too. A couple of months later, all that was reversed. Good luck and give it a while, it takes some time to fix energy flows.

I suggest all natural Joint Health Complex and Joint & Muscle Pain Cream.
The cream targets the source of pain for quick relief with deep penetrtion.
The Joint Health Complex supports the body's gradual ability to build cartilage, soothe and lubricate joints, and help improve overall joint function. You'll begin to experience comfort in as little as one week.
Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions or the website.

Joint pain or stiffness of the joint may be caused by overexertion, injuries, arthritis, muscle pain, bursitis and other diseases. Depending on the cause of the joint pain, joints on both sides of the body and small or large joints may be affected. Some types of joint pains can be completely cured but for other types of joint pain (like pain caused by osteoarthritis), treatment will only reduce the pain. This is gonna sound wierd but Paul Harvey "told me", WD40 was originally being made for arthritis but the FDA wouldn't approve it(surprise lol), anyway, a friends grandfather would actually put it on like lotion and work outside, in the garage, etc., then go in, take a shower(it smells very strong for indoors) and his joints wouldn't hurt as much. I know she's female, but it's worth a try because it is a lubricant and arthritis is dry joints. That's why cold hurts them, it's a dehumidifier. Also, see a doctor, it's the best idea!

Get a bottle of Glucosamine and Chondrotin complex. It's a pill with both ingredients. It works wonders. Google it, you'll see. I've been taking it for a month and can already feel a difference. I feel more flexible and relaxed.
I buy mine at Sam's Club. This works by actually repairing the cartilige between the joints.

Buy: Glucosamine and Chondrotin
It's over the counter at any drugstore. If you have a Costco membership, they sell it for a good price. It will ease the knee pain. The only other thing would be to get a Dr. prescription for Celebrex.
You have to keep using it to control the pain.

Yoga is completely fool proof but should be regularly practiced. Joint pain has no permanent cure but yoga can keep joint pain away.

Your wife must be suffering from severe osteoarthritis.
If you have tried everything else, then you must consult a good Orthopedic surgeon who does knee replacements.
You can visit this website for more information on knee pain and disorders
