Could anyone fill in the two blanks?

Thanks a lot, everyone! I am usually good at these, but this one had me stumped! I've been doing homework for 5 hours, I think my brain is fried! Thanks again!

Look at the number pattern...it increases by a certain number, and always decreases by four. If you look at the pattern the first number is always 1/3 the value of the second number in the pattern. The
next two numbers of the pattern should be obvious by now.
It's 29*3=87. The next blank following the 87 is (29*3)-4=83.

3 multiply by 3 gives 9
9 take away 4 gives 5
5 multilpy by 3 gives 15
15 take away 4 gives 11
.
.
.
.
29 multiply by 3 gives 87
87 take away 4 gives 83

This implies the series is 3 9 5 15 11 33 29 87 83

it multiplies by 3 then subtracts 4 and so on
