It works fine as long as the workers are bees and not people.

Personally, I find "most men would rather preserve the possibility of being rich than face the reality of being poor."

I just doesn't work because having aspirations is just human nature. You are just not going to get parents that tell their kids, "you should grow up to be a riveter at people's tractor factory #5". It's more like, "you should grow up to be on the party central committee".
