For now, I'm a junior in high school. I'm a pretty decent student with a 3.6 - 3.8 GPA. Although I make no plans to join any athletics, I am in 4 clubs, 2 of which I'm president of (CSF, an academic club, and the Art Club). I also get paid as an after-school tutor, and I am one of the upperclassman advisors to a group of freshmen.

I’m looking at my college options now, and I don’t know which would fit me best, nevertheless would accept me. I know that I will either go into the medical field, as a registered nurse, or into the education field, as a teacher. As of now, I’m more excited about becoming a teacher.

The colleges I have my eyes on are:
- Berkeley
- Santa Cruz

And maybe:
- Riverside
- San Francisco
- Merced

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank-you SO much!

The UC's are more competitive than ever. Sports would help but the SAT is the key. Prepare early and well. Get the software. Get the books and really work it. The PSAT is also important. A lot of scholarship money come from it.

Congrats! With your grades and activities, you can go far! I recommend you work closely with your counselors to see if there are scholarships available, as there is quite a demand for people in both of these professions.

Also, it would be a good idea to do some Informational Interviewing with people already in these careers. Ask for their time, and what they like/dislike about their career, the salary range, what helped them decide this career, etc. You will learn a lot about it before you invest your time, money, and energy. Ask for their recommendations in the field (esp. in medicine) as there are many choices. Best wishes.

you are book smart, but so stupid--- why are you asking this question??? pretty much, all you are doing is going on and on about your grades and crap and bragging.

if you really were smart, maybe talk to your college office in your highschool, or go to some of the UC websites.

if you are in california, go to fastweb.com or assist.org
