The simple answer: ignorance. There are plenty of Protestants out there that don't even consider Catholics Christians, which is both funny and sad. Too many people listen to others without questioning, make assumptions about others without bothering to actually ask someone about whom they're making assumptions, and learn more about that which they are relatively ignorant. In regard to the misconception that Catholics worship Mary, I can tell you, as a Catholic, we don't. We revere her as a woman who made the ultimate sacrifice and said Yes to God. In addition, we believe that there is a communion of saints in Heaven (Mary being amoung them). We believe that they can hear our prayers and intercede for us... it is the same as asking for a friend to pray for you, but instead of the friend being a coworker, it's a saint in Heaven. That's all it is... asking a friend in Heaven to pray for us. We have a very high respect and love for those who have led saintly lives, and view them as earthly examples. Obviously the greatest example is Jesus Himself, and that is not lost on us. Clearly Jesus' life and the essence of the Holy Trinity is the basis for all Christian denominations, including Catholicism. The differences come in smaller, yet still important matters, such as apostolic succession, the Sacraments, and other topics. However, many "differences" are simply misunderstandings, such as the widely believed misconception that Catholics worship Mary, which is completely untrue. My apologies for the length of this answer. I am not a priest and do not consider myself to be the most knowledgable of the Catholic faith, but like most Christians, I'm trying. Everyone is free to ask me questions if you would still like to find out more about Catholicism, and I hope everyone has a great day.

Most religions, or rather those that practice them, only consider the doctrines and documents that pertain to that religion. Therefore, they do not even know that "The Holy Trinity" is the central doctrine of the Catholic Church.
My theory has always been, in any situation, you cannot assert that you are right unless you know what the other position is. I haven't done a lot of studying of the various religions, but when I have come up on a question about one, I have tried to study their different doctrines and beliefs to determine the exact differences between what they believe and what I believe.
Catholicism is not something I have a lot of experience with. But I never realized that "The Holy Trinity" was the central doctrine. I know the Church of Christ does consider the Holy Trinity of the Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit, since it is biblically verifiable. As do many other "protestant" denominations. Many do not call it the "Holy Trinity", which may be why you have a question about their considerations. But the main questions I have been faced with about the Catholic church have been in regard to the Virgin, and the prayers directed to her.
It has been my experience that most religions do not consider much about any religion other than their own.

I am not sure what exactly is the "Holy Trinity" is. But since you are catholic , just want to know if you know Jesus?
The word of God says That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Good luck!

in accordance to Saint Paul you do. The be conscious Catholic potential "all embracing," or "in accordance to the entire." Holy potential "set aside for God," and the communion of saints is obviously in Revelations and implied interior the Gospels. Paul asks for the saints to desire for him. Any church which splits off is by potential of definition not all embracing, it rejects embracing all for this reason the 4200 self sustaining Protestant denominations interior the U. S., all of that have been invited lower back into the Catholic Church. in accordance to the entire potential the thought would desire to have been held for the time of all time and place, all people who splits from those ideals isn't Catholic. The be conscious Catholic grow to be properly in use by potential of the twelve months one hundred and seems to be a synthesis of what Paul taught. greater, 2 John prohibits modifications from custom. as an occasion, you don't get to make up your man or woman provider via fact the apostles left centers for use that are nonetheless in use to today. i'm not Christian, yet I easily have study all the classic documents. different than to Protestants, via fact Luther bumped off them, it is obvious that commencing your man or woman team is exactly forbidden or changing the management of the team from the apostolic management created by potential of Jesus and the Twelve (see as an occasion the ordination of Mathias in Acts). that is not optionally available. In what of Jesus' sayings is there a assertion you delivers up sharing solidarity and communion with yet another over psychological alterations on the cost of foot washing (to furnish an occasion from the Anabaptists). In what of Jesus' sayings are you authorized to resign sharing communion, different than the excommunication one? That one would recommend self excommunication makes one non-Christian by potential of the act of being Protestant. that is not a creedal undertaking, this may well be a scriptural undertaking and for sure is forbidden by potential of all the early writings the two interior and outdoors scripture. that's the only way, till Luther. As a independent outsider, the respond is genuinely sparkling, confident this would desire to be believed to be Christian. It additionally must be practiced to be Christian.

One problem with Catholics is that the Ten Commandments tell us not to worship false idols and Catholics pray to the Virgin Mary instead of God.
