Well, there's this boy who likes me and i sort of like him but my friend says they go together but he says he doesn't know her at all. She provokes me to get angry by telling me good and bad things about him and what might happen if we go out!

Tell her that you appreciate her interest, but that you would rather her not talk to you about him. Explain to her that if you choose to go out with him, you want her support, not her downing you about it all the time.

If you like him and he likes you, GO FOR IT, BUT.... Make sure he isnt "going" with your friends, b/c if he truley is and has been lying ALL this time, there is a good chance he isa no good two timer, and he will do it to you!
