i have a dvd burner on my dell laptop. i want to burn dvd's of what i've got on my DVR cable box (like Tivo).

With a video capture card (along the lines of a Hauppage WinTV or ATI TV Wonder) and a LARGE hard drive, yes... You'll capture the output from the cable box to a file, then burn that file to DVD.

Just keep in mind that recorded TV shows occupy massive amounts of space for that intermediate step.

Yes, Bestbuy sells a TV card for your pc, Cheap too, I think I paid less than $75 for mine, I have 125 channels and can record all my shows and burn to DVD
