Yes, I have been fired more than once. Six years ago I was fired from a temporary telemarketing job for failing to make enough sales. Then five years ago I got fired from a choice computer development job after missing a day of work and letting down my boss. He said there was no way he could afford to keep me on. A college program had got me hooked up with that job. Two years ago I was fired from another telemarketing job for showing low productivity and having weak professional ethics. I think in the end everybody got fired from there.

yes actually. twice .. no fun at all really.
The first time I had gotten a warning from a co-worker and there were some hints .. but felt I was in a large organization that I could get a transfer and I was doing a good job. No such luck. My enemy of 5 years got me after being promoted. He who fired me almost got fired, but alas, he didn't.
(actually offically let me go .. I got full unemployment)
the second time, I absolutly knew I was playing with fire, but also absolutely needed the job. I was down to less than 1month's eats and rent. So I took it. Gained 50 lbs too. Boss turned out to be the little (....) from hell. When the chips were down and the money was low .. he let me go after he thought he could get everything he could from me and his boss had scared him. A week before the fateful day - he was worried. alas. A year later, he got let go too after training his replaement.
(the second time I got full unemployment as well .. I filed a grievence with the state and the state found for me)
so you do what you can and try to get over it.
wallowing in it does nobody any good .. try and wallpaper it over.

Oh yeah!! Most people change careers 7-10 times in their lifetime of work (60-70 yrs). I've done over 2 dozen times of changing careers, and have been fired from the most unimportant jobs. But Ihagve a great career now and intend to retire from it if at all possible.

Not at this stage, and I hope never to be fired. Keep your head down at work and do your best and if you do get fired it's not the end of the world you will find another job soon.

No, fortunately not. Chemists are one of the few occupations in this country that remain in high demand...
