im a brunette and i have pretty strong hair on my legs. i also have really pale skin, so even when i shave, you can see my pores and sometimes the hair under the skin. also, it seems that the hair on my calves doesnt always shave smooth and i cant get my legs silky smooth, or ill get red bumps that burn after i shave, ive tried all types of razors and what not and dont know what the problem is, any tips, ideas, or personal experience that could be helpful?

Use a good razor, not cheap ones. And use lots of shaving cream. Make sure you shave with hot water...will work best if you've been sitting in a hot bath for a little bit, to open the pores and make it easier to shave the hair. As for the pale skin and seeing the pores, you can't do much except tan. But I'm sure nobody can see them if they're not staring at your legs up close.

this may go against the grain...so-to-speak...but try shaving WITH the grain. if u shave against the grain, u will get ingrown hairs and bumps. if u apply lotion while u are wet(ish) u will be okay. dont' let too much time pass by or the alcohol will make the red bumps u c. waxing also causes ingrown hairs. one trick i do before i leave the shower...i let my legs cool off after soaking and shaving in the bath. and then, when i get a quiver after skin begins to cool off, it makes my little hairs raise again from the pores, and i quick groom one more time and it's extra smooth when then skin relaxes again.

i am also a brunette and a little gray here and there i have very coarse hair on my legs i got an e mail from afriend the other day and on it it said when you run out of shaving cream and need to shave your legs to use up all those bottles of hair conditioner . i tried hair conditioner to shave my legs worked great and makes your legs really soft . i told my sister about it she also tried it worked good for her too . she said when she put lotion on after shaving with the conditioner that her legs burned but it didnt for me so you might test a spot hope it works for you
