Best movie ever is a toughy.
Drama, Cassablanca (Treasure of Sierra Madrea, flawed)
Comedy, Dr. Strangelove (edged out Ghostbusters by a millimeter)
Musical, The Music Man (My Fair Lady, flawed)
Wartime, The Great Escape (edged out Paths of Glory by a millimeter)
Action/Guy Flick, Under Seige (Lawton's script beat out Woo and others)
Sci Fi, Star Wars A New Hope (2001 became too boring and phoney)
Romance/Girl Flick, When Harry Met Sally (although I haven't seen The Notebook yet and girls all rave about that one, Sleepless in Seattle didn't speak enough about the human condition and As Good As It Gets was flawed)
This year ain't over until the Fat Person Sings! I've only seen United 93, not bad, I can see Oscar potentials, but it's not a 10.
Obviously I have to put Lake House on my list to see.

you must be bored... well i actually dont think there were any good movies this year. im not surprised that almost every movie that has come out in the past 12 months is either a remake of an old classic, a sequel to another movie, or incredibly similar to another movie.
