To forget about me and leave me alone? I'm not mad at him; he has never done anything mean to me. He's a nice person. But I like being alone...
I allowed him to become too close to me. So, how do I get rid of him?

Well, that can be a hard situation but think about this first. Are you just going through a hard time? Do you really want to lose a good friend? if so, and you really want to be alone then tell him you need your space and it's nothing he did. Don't be mean about it though. If you think you only need space for awhile, let him know it's not going to be forever but don't lead him on as a friend. I hope you feel better if it's anything. I know how you would want to be alone. Everyone does sometimes! :]

Are you depressed or something? Why would you want to get rid of a true, close friend? Close friends that can be trusted are VERY hard to find, so if you have one - you should be glad and keep him around. Wanting to be alone sometimes is okay, but if you want to be alone so much that you want to drive your friends away, you might be depressed and need to get help.

I like being alone too. Just tell him you need your space and not to get offended if you stop answering his calls as much and stop hanging out with him, but that you really enjoy being alone.

Writing a letter is always good. I had to do that once. I just explained that I felt it was best that we end our friendship. If the guy calls you after that, let the machine pick up and eventually he'll get the hint.
