I have mathematica software.
It was downloaded as trail version. I want it to be perminant.

What I done is that I opened up Start > Search and then typed mathematica to get a list of all the mathematica program files that make up mathematica.
I deleted the file that ran "trial period" opperation sucsessfully; so in theory, I can keep my program for free.

For the record, it is worth over $1,600

Or is there a catch?

With software of that value, I very much doubt its that easy.

if its a trial version of any software, it will generally be set to deactivate after the trial period, no matter what you do the the trial version itself
usually you need a seperate serial number for the full versions too, that will be recognized as different from the trial or bootleg versions.
