to clarify a few misconceptions *ahem*

1) its not PERMENANT you can always take it out and the hole is tiny and will close in less than a few weeks. so its not like youre going to be 60 with a nose stud.
2) it doesnt prevent you from sneezing, and blowing your nose. its so small! and with proper care it wont get infected.
3) i know sooo many people with nose piercings and i like it on all of them.
4) for jobs you can get a retainer (clear thing) to put in. or maybe by the time you get real jobs after college you might want to take it out. itll just close up.

i saw one of my friends get hers done, she didnt act like it hurt a lot at all. her eyes watered a little, but she said it was a lot better than she expected and didnt even say ow. they do it with a needle, make sure you go to a GOOD place.

now she has to clean it with antibacterial soap and water mix, as well as dunk her nose in a cup full of sea salt water (so it heals faster) everyday for a few weeks-ish. in 6 months she will be able to change the piercing. by the way do not rotate the piercing, that doesnt help it heal and irritates the area.

i think you should do it if you want to!!!! theyre kind of sexy, im considering getting it done.

My nose piercing hurt less than getting my ears pierced. It did make my eyes water because nose pain just does that. It was tender for a few days afterwards but then it was fine. The hardest thing about it was remembering to be careful not to rip it out when you're drying your face with a towel or taking a top off or something - that hurts. It's easy to care for, I just had to get a cotton ball, put Listerine mouthwash which was 1/2 diluted with water on it and wiper around the hole on the inside and outside morning and night for about a month. In the end I took it out though because I got bored with it, my taste changed and I decided it was a bit tacky, everyone seems to have one. Also I got sick of having to take it out for work and other places where you have to look respectable. Whoever said you can't blow your nose with one doesn't know what they're talking about - a nose pin is different to an ear stud, it doesn't have a back, it just folds into an 'L' shape sits against your nostril. It doesn't get in the way at all and it doesn't get 'dirty'.

Probably a nose piercing because where I live belly button piercings are really common and nose piercings look great (I'm talking about the side of your nose if you mean the inside then belly button because the inside piercings make you look like a bull)

I'm going to have to disagree with a lot of the responses people have made. A piercing, unlike a tattoo, is NOT something that is permanent. If you'd like to get the piercing, then go for it. If you end up not wanting it, you can simply take it off. It doesn't hurt much (but pain is a relative thing) and it's not difficult to take care of if done properly.

hey, you only live once, and its better to pierce than to tattoo. so, you might as well do it if you want it that bad.

it will hurt for a moment or two, but not as bad as you think. it requires cleaning just as any other piercing.

oh, but fair warning, i had my belly button pierced when i was 16 and took it out when i was 21... over 3 years later i still have an obvious scar and i have squeezed puss out of it... it wont go away. interestingly, i never had any problems when i had the ring in! so, i don't know if you want to risk any such issues on your face? but, if i could go back i would do it all over again...

It stings for a minute and alot of times your eyes will water. No, its easy to care for. I had one and took it out years ago. I just got bored of it. I still have a little dent of where it was. I don't notice it really. I forget until someone is looking at me and asks if I had my nose pierced.

Think towards the future ... is a nose piecing something you want later on? Just my opinion. I do not have mine pierced nor would I. I have heard from many people that it is a turn off. Just like an eyebrow piercing. It may seem cool NOW but please think about your future. : )

WHY WOULD YOU REALLY WANT TO DO THIS TO YOUR BODY. HOW WOULD YOU BLOW YOUR NOSE. NOT TO FORGET THE INFECTIONS THAT YOU COULD GET. AND WHAT KIND OF JOB ARE YOU LOOKING AT THAT THEY'D WANT TO HIRE YOU WITH YOUR PIERCINGS.
