Ok here it goes, we've lived in an appartment for a while and just got a house, yea! The inside was freshly painted, but we have some other options. our colors are: pastel/light green, pastel/light yellow and iceicle white. The master bedroom and living room has dark oak hardwood floors, kitchen grey and white floors, downstairs dark grey carpet. The master bedroom is the pastel/light green, and we were thinking to add white trim around the doors, windows, and the wood trim that goes around the room. The living room has white walls, along with the kitchen. Don't know what to do with these rooms, the living room and kitchen/dinning room have no wall seperator except the bar area. Down stairs we are going to do the same as the master bedroom, trimming with white.
Now, What the hell do we do for the kitchen/dinning room, living room and bathroom? Yellow in the bathroom, with white trim. I am affraid that if we do the kitchen and living room different it might clash.

Pick up some decorating magazines and some of the folders showing painting suggestions at Lowe's, Home Depot or any paint store like Benjamin Moore. Don't be afraid of color. It is the cheapest way to decorate there is. Also you can buy small samples of the colors to try on the walls first.
If you like cool colors, go with the green. If you like warm colors, go with yellow. White is boring and not in style anymore but it is good for trim. Don't be afraid of the colors clashing. Yellow and green are fine together.

It will look fine to define the living room with different color. You could add a splash by buying a column (post) or two and installing them from floor to ceiling and a bit out from the wall at the dividing point. You could achieve the same effect with curtains if you are not much of a carpenter.
