Finding new friends.?

Hi, I'm 17 and i have no friends. After 8th grade i decided to go down the homeschool route instead of normal High School. But over time, the friends i had stopped calling and when i tried to call them they were usually too busy to talk. Eventually, i gave up on calling because i always felt depressed for a while after they blew me off. But now my days consist of sitting at home and then going to work but there arent any people my age that i work with. The job pays well so i cant quit and go somewhere with people more my age. If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Not seeing each other everyday can make your friends drift away. It almost always happens after High School so don't feel bad.
Find a church or club where people share some of your interests. Or maybe you could take a night class at a local college. Maybe you could do some volunteer work. Have a party and invite people in your neighborhood and some of your old friends. Just get out there as much as possible.

I went through a phase when I didn't have many friends either - and it is really hard! But sometimes it is just due to CIRCUMSTANCES. In other words, it is not your fault. You do need to get involved in SOMETHING where there are people your age. Can you pick up a hostessing job on the weekends? You will definitely make new friends working at a restaurant. When you go to college, make sure you live with roommates - they become automatic new friends.

how much older are the people at your job? if its say 3-5 yrs older, don't hesitate to try to be their friend. Try to involve yourself in maybe some night courses, or language courses, some sort of hobbie or community where you may find people your age to interact with. It's important to keep human touch ;), so get out there!

get out there and live.... you are only young once..... are there hang outs your old friends go to ? are there teen clubs or dances ? movie theaters?? make the effort to find out where ppl your age and a little older rome and hang.... you can do it !!!!God bless
