Pre-recorded CDs are required to meet standards set down in the Red Book (industry regulations pertaining to the compatiblity of CDs) i.e. they must play on any type of CD player.

CD-Rs and CD-RWs do not have to meet the Red Book standard.

No! loads of early models can't. CDR's weren't available when they were made. Same apples to car changers and players.

You might be lucky, if you experiment with different brands or colours, silver, purple, golden etc.

If the CD-writer and recordable media are up to standard and fully conform to the redbook standard then yes.

In practice, it's not always this clean cut however.

i had a sony stero got it wen i was bout 14 it neva played copied cds it was brand new wen i got it and was well looked after but they played fine in my dvd player i would assume that models b4 copied cds prob wont play the copies
