For weight loss? Has anyone have any good or bad side effects?

I TOOK IT .. THE DRUG JUST MADE ME GET IBS PLUS TINGLING IN MY FACE LIKE A STROKE !

Yes! I am on it and have been for years. It is an anti-seizure drug and that's why I take it. It makes me have problems with my hands shaking sometimes and at first I had trouble drinking soda because it felt as if my tongue was on fire. I still have the shaking of my hands but, I can deal with it. It's better than the seizures. I hear a lot of people don't like the side effects. I am on so many pills that I don't notice one side effect from another anymore. But I was only on Topamax at first and those were my symptoms. I hope it helped you. :)

I have been getting super frustrated because the Dr told me one of the side effects would be weight loss and I haven't lost a dang thing. Except about half my migraines, so that's worth it. I'm on a very high dose, too. I do get the afore mentioned tingling and super fatigue, so I wouldn't take it just for weight loss.

I was on it for a while. It helped with my migranes, but I never lost any weight off of it. No bad side effects, good ones actually. I was on it for weight loss but it stopped my migraines and I felt better. I liked it.

I take it for migraines. It will change the way foods taste and you will probably get tingly. Tingly lips, hands, feet its more annoying than anything. As far as changing the way foods taste it is only a side effect and with most side effects it can wear off. Both of these side effects did for me.

Topamax (or Dopamax) is a medication for seizures which is prescribed to prevent migraine. I tried it to prevent migraine for 8 months. It did not prevent occurrences nor did I
lose weight. It did make me crabby, mean and temper-prone, so I quit taking it. It also tends to make you stupid and gives you neurological
problems. Unless you have a medical reason to take it, don't risk it.

I don't know about for weight loss but they prescribed it for my stepson for migraine headaches and he is a pretty good size kid of 15 and they will literally knock him out. He said it is hard for him to wake up and when he does then he has a headache from sleeping too hard. I also know it is prescribed for seizures. I would check it out before taking it.
