Eventhough it is on cable - it is basic cable - and I want to know how the elements and language get past censors?

There are no "censors." Basic cable can pretty much put on whatever they want, but the networks have all made a mutual and voluntary decision to keep the rough language and nudity toned down before 10 pm. Even after 10, they often beep stuff out, but they have more leeway after that time.

Again, it's VOLUNTARY on the part of the networks. They are bound by FCC rules, but those rules are more lenient than you might think.

good question.

My thoughts are that the rules change for the last hour of prime time especially for cable. They don't show genitals. The nudity is mostly surgical. There is little if any profanity. All you have is content. The most objectionable material goes at the end of the show when it is okay to do so in the last five minutes or so.

I know!!

Cable is a big free for all, you know... They can air whatever they want as long as the content is somewhat reasonable...

I agree that most other shows are "cleaner" (which kinda reminds me of "24"... the dirtiest thing Kiefer Sutherland says is "dammit" every 30 seconds LOL)!!!

I think they have a disclaimer before the show and if you put the show later at night the rules seem to relax a bit (less kids watching in theory)

They do swear alot on that show. I remember when you couldn't even say *** on TV.
I bet the word *** gets blocked from this post. Sorry, I meant buttocks. LOL!
