If you are bottle feeding there are anti-colic bottles out now that are amazing. I can't remember which brand had them at Walmart, but we got the Walmart brand, Parent's Choice. They leaked pretty bad so we switched to Dr. Brown's. They leak a little too, but it doesn't matter. If it helps my baby I'll mop my floor 100 times a day if they leak when I'm shaking them.
There are other bottles that say they are anti-colic, but if they don't have some kind of thing (extra parts) in the middle of them to keep air from going through the nipple they do not work. Trust me, I've tried it!
Also, lay your baby over your arm on his/her stomach. This seems to help a little bit.

If you are breastfeeding, cut out all the following from your diet: dairy, garlic, hot peppers/sauce, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, and any vegetables from the brassicae family. You should see an amelioration within 3 days. Garlic and onions are very hard to avoid in prepared food, so check labels carefully.
Try above foods again one every 3-4 days, in about 2-3 weeks.
Mint or chamomille tea will help. Steep 1 tsp/bag of mint/chamomille in 1 cup boiling water. Let infuse untill cooled down. Feed to your baby with a dropper, a bottle, or a teaspoon. Do not use mint if you are giving your baby homeopathic products.
When my son had colic, I changed my diet as above, and when to an herb store where they sold me a colic tea mix that was very helpful.
Gentle belly massage will help, a well as a warm bath with mommy.
My son enjoyed laying on the dryer on his belly, over 2 towels. I would sit by him and read.
I hope this helps!

Of coure speak to your doctor about this, but my nephew had colic and my sister was told to give him gas medicine (pediatric drops). Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think colic & gas go hand-in-hand. Also, get the bottles that tilt easier than the straight ones, such as: Advent, Parents Choice has one. This helps to eliminate the bubbles that cause gas. I stopped my baby from finishing off the last drop, due to getting air. Another thing, is if its stools are hard, it may be constipated, which could be mistaken as colic. If your child is truly colic, they make bottles that are design for that, they are a little more costly than the others I mentioned. I was around my sis & her son, and I saw first hand it worked. Goodluck!!

Yes Yes!
My mom did this with us kids and I did with all 3 of my kids!
Take a candy cane and break off a 1 inch piece and put in a baby bottle. Or go to the store and get the round red and white striped candies. Put some warm water in the bottle and shake so the pepermint taste comes out. The pepermint will soothe refux or gassiness.
Lond term have the Dr. check for reflux issues. It is often misdiagnosed as "colic".
Good Luck!

I can relate-my daughter had severe colic from 0-7m. Get the book "Happiest Baby on The Block" It might not remove the problem but it will give you some tips. Hang in there. It gets easier. Make sure to get lots of breaks for yourself because it's hard on mom to take after hours of crying. Put the baby down and take a shower or listen to headphones for a while. Sometimes infants pick up on our stress and it makes everything worse. ((((HUGS)))))))

I"M SO SORRY obviously you have a colicky baby! I have heard to use sugar water, but I couldn't do that with my baby no matter how bad it got :( Basically the 5 s's of soothing, swaddle, shush, swing and I don't really remember the rest. Once again, I'm so sorry, I went through this and totally understand. A lot of times there is an underlying cause so try talkign to your pediatrician too. And good luck, hope it doesn't last too long. I have a link below for you.

colic isn't an mystery anymore, almost all the mothers know about it and try different ways to soothe their babies, home remedies are pretty effective and safe option so better to try one instead of putting the innocent creature on medication, okay coming back to the question what I prefer is for my baby "babies magic tea" of secrets of tea because its a blend of organic herbs which have been used to soothe babies with colic since generations.

Go to your health food store and ask for Catnip Tea, yes there is really such a thing. Give baby a few drinks and it will help him sleep. Make sure it is not too strong you can ask the person there how to make it. It helped my daughter she was terrible with colic.

My aunt made my daughter some onion juice. You peel onion cut into big pieces pour some water on the stove with the onion pieces in it. Boil it for a few minutes. When the onion juice cools off take the onion pieces out pour into a the bottle. You only need a little bit in a bottle the baby won't drink a lot. It worked for my daughter. I know other people who have used it.

Hi, I'm a mother of 2 kids now 9 and 6 yrs old, but they sure had the same problems and I tried a lot of things: gripe water, different bottles and gently rubbing their stomachs with baby oil. They all work.
