Overall, Torchic. It can use almost all the same moves as Charmander or Cyndaquil, but the best part is that it has an excellent evolution. Just look at Blaziken.

I love Cyndaquil and I'm really hoping they'll make it easy to get in the next games 'cause I can never complete my pokedex and I couldn't make the cheat codes work. Cyndaquil has great attacks and it's evolutions are really powerful. Saying that though, I always pick the fire pokemon first because they're all really great to use in battles.

As far as coolness, charmander.
In terms of usefulness in the metagame, Blaziken is better. Just more versatile. But Typhlosion is just mediocre. All of them are handicapped due to the underpoweredness of the fire-type...
