No. It is is a fallacy that money buys quality education. Money buys culture and standardized tests used to gauge progress are culturally biased.

The quality of education is dependent most upon the parent and the attitudes and ideology that they instill in their student about education. If intelligence/thoughtfullness/analysis of problems are valued by the parents they will be valued by the child.

In short if you send you kid to any public school, you as the parent are still responsible for the outcome.

If your kid is smart and really shows the potential to be a great student, then he or she can usually get a scholarship. If not, wait until they're serious about school work or really understand the importance of good education. And plenty of people have made great careers even after attending public schools.

My kids go to a school that is excellent in the primary grades, but sucks in the secondary grades. I help them as much as I can with every aspect of their education. I encourage them to have good study habits, and I help them study, I make sure their homework is done, I help them with projects, and if they are having any difficulty I figure out how best to help them. Next year I have to send my daughter to a school in the next town, because it offers a much better education to secondary students, with caring staff, and numerous programs and activities. I may have to pay out of district tuition, but it will be worth it to have a happy, well educated child.
