My wife and I have bought an ornament every year we have been married. Our dates are engraved on the ornaments. We live in Japan now but the place we got the ornaments is in Canada. I sure there is a place near you you can find a store that will put the date on for you. Or do what we do and get the kind that can be engraved. That way you can put on any date or wording you like.

I neglected to get a first christmas ornament , and was lucky enough to find one on ebay. If you dont' get so lucky, lots of places will have ornaments you can have engraved. You could do this for a dollar at walmart, or if you want to spend a little more you certainly can.
Things remembered usually has beautiful ornaments that can be engraved, or ordered on line at thingsremembered.com
Check out bronners.com
They have anything you could possibly want related to christmas.

First of all, I am really sorry to hear that, I know what it is like to loose things that mean so much to you.
I know it is probably not the same, but you can buy metal ornaments and have them engraved with whatever you want on them, they sell that stuff all over the place. Or if you find a special one, go to a trophy shop, they do engraving.

Hmmm, first this is sad and I cant imagine losing precious memories like that... Maybe what you could do is go to WalGreens or maybe even Wal Mart (also, custom print shops for T-shirts or banners, etc. OR Things Remembered may be a better idea) and take a picture of you are your sister hugging and smiling all big and childlike (MAYBE you could try to dress a little like children? remember its for the ones you love). Have them put this on a Christmas ball (or whatever those things are called) and put the date of 1982 or maybe this years date. Give it to your parents as a suprise and I am sure they will love it and miss the original a little less.
I think that is a great idea and will make them very happy.

Holly has a good idea. I'd keep checking Ebay. Did you post it in the "want it now" feature? People have Christmas packed away right now. Hopefully you'll get lucky as the season draws closer.
It's very thoughtful of you to do what your doing. Good Luck, I hope you find one.
