I don't think there will be much of a future, mainly because of global warming. Even if everyone in the world switched to hybrid cars, runaway global warming will start in about 10 years. That means that even if everyone in the world stops polluting, the world will still get hotter and hotter. So eventually it will get so hot that the earth will develop hurricane after hurricane, and if the polar cap melt, the earth might develop a massive hurricane that never ends, like on the planet jupiter. The red spot on jupiter, by the way, is a hurricane twice the size of planet earth.
So I really dont see much of a future unless we stop what we are doing now.
People say we should "Live like there's no tomorrow," but that's an exceedingly selfish way to live, and that attitude is causing major damage across the world as i write this. People need to start living like they will never die, and anticipate the horrible events that will soon come about due to our continued rape, pillage and rampant pollution of Earth.
Honestly, people dont realise that a change of ONE DEGREE in the oceans would be enough to spawn massive hurricanes in the oceans and seas; the reason katrina came about is because the ocean is heating up.
So honestly, I dont think there is a future. Not if we continue the way we are.

The future is what you make it, not what someone leaves you. I think the children of today can be just as great as our generation. But, for some reason I think that technology has almost reached its limits. What else can we discover or create that hasn't already been thought of? Maybe that will be THEIR contribution - to think of things we haven't already thought of.

the generation before us really screwed things so badly that we can't fix the problem. the last generation used everything to excess leaving us and future generations with a very poor future.

Horrible. I cringe just thinking of what my children are going to endure from the lost of blue collor jobs overseas..greedy oil tycoons high gas prices and lack of natural resources and racism like the relief efforts after hurricane Katrina. No one cares about anyone anymore.
