My little on had one on her left side as well. We had our family Dr. try and remove it when she was about your little ones age. They numbed it and then took it off. I left the room and my hubby stayed with her because it broke my heart to hear her scream.
When it was over (very fast) she was just fine.
Im glad we did it when she was that young rather than waiting till she was this age (4). It's still there, just a tiny bit, but I would rather have that then what was there before. We will probably have it done again when she is older and it bothers her, but it is MUCH less noticiable than before and she will never remember what was done since she was so little!

My son also has a small tag on his left ear. He is two and we don't even notice it anymore. I dont think a good doctor would remove anything like that on a baby that small.Unless it was harmful to the baby and not just something cosmetic .

I see ear tags on babies every now and then, they are no big deal and their removal is strictly a cosmetic decision. I've never know anyone to have them removed actually but I guess you can talk to your pediatrician about it if you like.

My son has 1, he is 4 months- does it need to be removed? My pediatrician said that it would be more of a cosmetic thing if i wanted it removed and it would be safer when he is older, not now, there is no need b/c it very rarely affects hearing.

as long as its not bothering your baby or infected then i would leave it alone till they get older. i had one removed by freezing it and it's growing back again.
