Costumes4less.com sells a magic light bulb for $9.89. It does not give any details about it, other than the fact that it is made of glass. It does show a picture of a man holding the lit bulb in his hand. I would contact them by phone and get specifics on the product if you are interested.
I loved Uncle Fester, and the kids will really enjoy your costume. Happy Halloween!!!

I know of a place by my house I can get one of those. It's kind of a novelty shop. Although I'm not sure of where you get one at a place by your house (where ever that might be). But since it's for your kids, and if you can't find one by your house, I would be happy to get it and mail it to you free of charge.
I remember those when I was kid and I loved it. All you have to do is put a piece of metal (which you put on your tounge) and touch it to screw end and it lights up. You are right, they'll love it. If you can't find one, contact me at backpackwayne@yahoo.com and I'll send you one right away.
You might try a Spencer's gift store if there is one near you, or a magic shop.
Good Luck,
Wayne

The closest thing I know of is an "as seen on TV" item called the "stick up bulb". This is a battery-powered light and it looks just like a regular light bulb...only drawback / concern would be whether you could get the base in your mouth.

You can import bulbs like this from Asia (try yesasia or jlist) for like $20 plus shipping. You'd have to order soon though due to the shipping.

There's a place here called 'Jokers wild'. They carry all kinds of stuff like that, especially around Halloween time. I'm sure you've got some similar type store in your area. If not, drop me a note and I'll check it out here and send it to you, if they've got one.

"anything shy of a legitimate answer will get reported" --- wow, kinda rude, don'tcha think? You can report me, but I'm giving you a "thumbs down" vote for your rudeness. How can you really expect anyone to want to sincerely help you after you hit them with THAT?
BTW ... "compitent"????? You are a teacher and you don't know how to spell "competent"? :-)

My only thoughts are to try costume, magic, and novelty stores and to search on ebay.
