The wife threw away the expired drug when she cleaned the house. She forgot to get the new ones. The husband had a cut on the hand and couldn't find the antibiotic ointment. He had a rage at the wife, saying that she shouldn't throw away the old one before she gets the new one. Is this the wife fault?

No, the wife is not at fault in this case. The husband or wife could get the antibiotic ointment to restock. She was cleaning and getting the expired medicine out, saving the husband from using bad medicine. She is a hero in that sense. She or he could have restocked - maybe the husband and wife need a little grocery list on the fridge to fill out when they notice something missing?!

What good is expired medication? If it were there in the cabinet would he use it if it were expired?!?! Having expired medication is like having none in my opinion. Who says it's the wife responsibility to keep a stock of medicine on hand unless this was some kind of pre-planned agreement on household chores and responsibilities? Who made that rule?...Him? at the last minute just because he "could"?

Keep fighting about small stuff and you will find yourselves alone. Maybe for the best, maybe not. Look after each other but also look after yourselves. Must be a reason it expired best to get ride of it even if there is no replacement on hand..

The husband is as capable as she is to get the new antibiotic.

The old one couldn't have been used anyway, so either way, hubby was up the creek without a paddle.

Next time, if he wants it bought, he'll check it out and see if it's there.

The wife should not have stopped with just the antibiotic!
The husband sounds to me like he is well past his expiry date!!!!!! Think about trading up!

I think that this is something so silly to argue about. There is so much more important stuff to worry about.
