It would undoubtedly change some of the physical properties. Sunlight is high energy and diesel is volatile. The only sure way to know if it is chemically altered would be to set up the experiment and measure some of the chemical and physical properties. The ideal way would be to do a mass spec., a proton nmr, and an ir flame spectroscopy to check the actual structural formula. But there are simpler ways to determine if it is chemically altered if that's all you want to know. Check the refraction index before and after exposure to sunlight.

Yes, through evaporation. The more volatile components would leave & the diesel would become a little oilier.
