8 kilometers equals 5 miles.

so 5 times 3600 equals 18000 miles per hour.

Multiply 8 km/sec by 3600 to get km/hr. Divide that by 1.6 to get miles per hour. I don't have my calculator handy.

more or less eveyone can get it right . i would like to show you a way in order not to get confused. you have Km/s and you want to fine the miles / hour? start by asking (in mathematical form) the question using the following

X miles / hour = 8 km /s 3600s/1h 1Km / 1.601 miles = 17980 mils /h

8 km/sec * 3600 sec/hr = 28,800 km/hr (the "seconds" cancel out)

28,000 km / 1.6 km/mi = 18,000 mi

Therefore your answer is 18,000 MPH
