It looks like they might just get in. It's been a great race.

The Cardinals are making a run at one of the most historic collapses in sports history, the Phillies' 1964 disaster:
"The Phillies started strong and battled for first place through the summer of '64. On Sept. 21, the team returned to Connie Mack Stadium with a 6.5-game lead in the standings with 12 remaining. Philadelphia rocked with anticipation.
What happened next amazed the baseball world and scarred the city for decades. The Phillies lost 10 consecutive games and finished in second. No team has ever blown a lead that large so close to the finish line. The collapse was a defining event in the lives of fans, players and coaches."
The Cards had a a 7 game lead on the Astros, with 13 to play, before the Astros swept them in a weekend (Sept 22-24) series.
They lost two more games Sept. 25 & 26 to the Padres when they lost and the Astros beat the Phils the Bucs.
If the Cards lose the Central Division, they might (I mean might) out do the Phillies' collapse in 1964.
I think they've got a great chance to lose! Their piching is weak and their hitters are tight.

The stros are hot and the cars are not. . . the cards will win 2 maybe 3 of their remainig 6 and the stros will win 4 or five of their remaining five. In the event of the tie-breaker the stros will beat the crap out of the cards.

I don't know...but it's not looking good.
But in true Houston form, they will probably catch the Cardinals, only to choke themselves on the last day of the season...

It is very possible yes considering the way that they are playing but I think they might get it together and win the Central but nothing more than that.

They will make the playoffs, but without any pitchers to start or close, look for them to get swept in the first round.
Astros Suck.
