read the question,
just because I post the question close to when we put back the clocks, doesn't mean that I'm asking the question 'when do we put the clock back in the uk?' now does it?

The clocks change in the early hours of the morning of the last Sunday in March and October. An easy way to remember if its going forward or back is...

Spring Forward
Fall Back.

clocks go forward at the beginning of bst. and back meaning end of bst, and back on the old gmt I think it is Oct 29th this year. Sunday, you put your clock one hour back on the Saturday night so it gets darker earlier in the evenings and lighter in the mornings, all to do with farmers or something like that. I personally am sick of it.

Sunday 29th October 2006 at 2:00am set you clocks back to 1:00am. Don't forget your car clock, DVD, Video, Central Heating, Hot Water Heater clocks when doing so.

Think of EQUINOX. This when day and night are of equal length. The clocks go forward on the last Sunday in March, from GMT to BST [summer time]. The clocks go back [one hour] on the last Sunday in October, from BST to GMT.

Summary

CLOCKS FORWARD - LAST SUNDAY MARCH
CLOCKS BACK - LAST SUNDAY OCTOBER
