I need to pay for some genealogy research. I want to send dollars and have it paid in Germany in Euros. To wire it would cost $40 dollars, that's too expensive. Is there any other way?

do they take a credit card. they get the best exchange rates. but maybe you can go to your bank and see if they have a different rate for you if you are a member. or you can go to your local bank and change out american money for euros and see if you cant fed ex it for cheaper. not that i recommend sending money through the mail but not sure how else you can do it with out going to a bank or western union.

Paypal is a great way to convert currency if the transaction needs to be made online.

Check if they accept PayPal, they charge much less and do currency conversion for you. You can get a free account at www.PayPal.com if you don't have one.
