My cousin has had an ear ache for the last two days, and we need a way to cure it. Please bere in mind that she is pregnant so no painkillers or other answers that could harm the baby.

If she got water in her ears, she could have what is called "swimmer's ear." I use a few drops of olive oil that has soaked over some crushed garlic. I put just a drop or two on a q-tip and coat the ear canal with it. The garlic acts as an antibiotic. It works pretty well!

Ear candling. Short answer is it's a long hollow candle. You put the narrow end in the ear canal entrance and light the top of it. The warmth and smoke go into the ear which soothes irritation, loosens and removes earwax buildup (you'd be amazed how much is down in there) and it feels good. They're a little expensive at health food stores, around $6 each and you'll need 2 or 3. It works for me. Search ear candles on the net.

I suffer from chronic ear infections, and I have a cure that works every time. Get a heating pad and a washcloth. Turn the heating pad on (I use medium, but use whatever setting is comfortable). Put the washcloth on the heating pad, and lay down with the sore ear on it. Sit there for about 15-20 minutes. The heat will cause the fluid to drain out. (It sounds gross, but it really helps.)

Ear candling is a great alternative. I have many normal friends who swear by it. One friend inparticular was told her daughter would need tubes after her 4th ear infection in a row. She decided to give ear candling a try, and not only did her daughter not have to get tubes, she hasn't had one infection since. Whenever her daughter starts having ear trouble, she immediately uses a candle and within a few hours, all is well. Here are a couple of website about it: http://www.tranquildays.com/hopi.htm and http://healing.about.com/od/earcandling/ss/earcandlesteps.htm. We are Christians, so you don't have to make it all kooky. The websites sort of make it sound weird, but it really is quite normal. :)

My daughter had two sets of tubes inserted in her ears by the time she was three. She had severe earaches and drainage. An elderly lady who lived next to us at the time told me to squeeze juice from an onion heat it and drop into ears. Believe it or not it worked. Won't hurt to give it a try.

That depends on the cause of the ear ache.... But mine are often caused by sinus congestion. My "cure" is probably just mostly soothing - drinking lots of warm drinks. Since she is pregnant, I would suggest an herbal tea that does not contain caffeine.

Take a handful of salt & put it in a clean sock. Tie a knot, then nuke it until it's warm. Place on ear, relax & breathe. Also olive oil dropped in the ear (great for preventing & treating stretch marks too!)

take a balloon (or just your fist if you cant find one) and blow it up and let the air out. Do that over and over again this will relieve the pressure and then tonight, if it doesn't hurt too much...lay on the ear that hurts and let all the crap drain out, you may want to put a towel down. NO COTTON OR CUE TIPS. These are very bad for your ears.

Wrap half a garlic clove with a cotton ball and stick it in the ear. You can also try the same thing but with rue or mint. I also have to agree with loofa36. Urine is very beneficial.

try warming something called sweet oil and put a few drops in each ear, and plug with a cottonball. there are a number of things you could get at a health food store, but be sure to tell them she is pregnant. they will have something to put in the ears... not to swallow.
