I worked for a company and resigned. About 3+ months after leaving the company I get a phone call from the local police asking me to come in and answer some questions. The officer would not tell me why. I declined to go. Its been 6 months since I left the company and I was contacted by the business insurance company wanting to send me information about a claim.

What the hell is going on???????

Do you have a good, trusted friend at the company you resigned from? Call and see if you can find out from him/her what the hell is going on.

At any rate, do not talk to the police. If they want you bad enough they will (a) charge and arrest you, or (b) get a supeona. At that point contact an attorney, no sense in accruing attorney fees if you don't have to.

I had this happen to me at my local grocery store. Please listen to me!!! Don't answer questions without an attorney and dont admit to anything!!!!! Even if you did embezzle money or items DO NOT admit to it! Make them prove you did it! But sometimes cases take 3-6 months to investigate so thats why you are just now getting a call. BUT GET AN ATTORNEY!

you are definitley currently under investigation !
White collar crimes ALWAYS take a long time to investigate
it appears that you WILL be charged with something
I do not know the scope of this case but it appears that you will be getting a certified letter from the county court house
it could be big or small who knows but I would have an atty talk to the detective who is investigating this case
to make sure you do not get any suprises...

If you have not done anything wrong, you have nothing to hide. In that case they may be investigating somebody else. You are the only who knows what is going on.

Geez, let the insurance company send you the information. Then, you'll have some idea.

you should have gone to the police department just to see what was going on.
I would get a lawyer before this goes further
