Absolutely, Miami is a meltingpot, lots of opportunities and jobs. If you don't speak spanish, you may have more opportunities to work in Ft. Lauderdale
Housing is pricey, public transportation is almost non-existing, so you will need a dependable car.
But you will love it

It will depend on your field, but as a resident of Fort Lauderdale for the last 1 1/2 years, I had no problem finding a job. The income levels in southern Florida tend to be a lot higher than in the rest of the country, so you should really have no issue. The only thing that you may have a hard time with is the cost of living. The cost of buying a home here, and the property taxes are astronomical. You really should research your field and your ability to earn compared to the cost of housing before you move. For information sake, Florida is great at providing everything you need online. I think it would be really easy for Canadians to move to the US and get a job because Canada and the US are so close and involved in many things.
