That should be ok so long as I don't do this often, right? Also ethanol has no affect on my turbo , so long as I continue to use premium fuel, right?

All synthetics I am aware of are fully compatable with regular motor oil. As to ethanol, it won't affect your turbo, but it might cause problems with other fuel system components. In my 30+ years of auto repair (see http://econofix.com) I've seen some very clean engines and some very dirty ones. The clean ones change their oil regularly and use the same brand of oil all the time.
The problem is that ethanol absorbs water, and water can corrode fuel injection parts made of iron or steel, as well as some other alloys. Since all gas now has some ethanol in it, manufacturers are making their fuel systems more tolerant to it.

in the adventure that your final oil substitute became into guy made, it would final for as much as an entire three hundred and sixty 5 days, in spite of mileage. actual pull out your dipstick and notice if the oil is grimy or surprisingly thick. Your engine became into DESIGNED for guy made oil use, and prevalent oil WILL harm the engine no be counted if it is used over the years. Sludge will foul out your expensice sensors and create matters alongside with your converter and exhaust device. probability is that your engine demands 5W-20, that's immediately guy made i think of. examine your oil point frequently and stay removed from prevalent wax based oils. They consume up engine selas and corrupt the full engine over the years!! all people who isn't utilising a sturdy guy made is dropping their time and money. Sludge is often created over the years, and lifters and alleviation valves get clogged up. sturdy success!!

With a turbo, you of course have the oil put at higher heats... conventional may "coke" up in a turbo....
Its ok right now, I'd just stick to syn with a turbo.

you shouldnt need synthetic on a STI.
thats soemthing that should be used sparingly unless the dealer says its OK.
and you shouldnt need premium fuel either..fuel makes no difference and doesnt affect your car....you can use regular..or anything over 80 grade i think.

I had a car and used regular oils then changed to using synthetic oils. My advise is get synthetic back in to your car asap. (my car blew a rod) from switching from regular to synthetic and back.It is not good to switch around.

NO! It's not ok to do that! If you want to replace the engine very shortly then keep doing it. Won't take but a few times and
WAMMO!!! New Engine time!!!!!!!!!!
