some people think that the color of your skin gets you into good or bad situations. few ignorant people feel that light-skinned people are treated better than dark-skinned.

Interesting question. The same holds true in the Asian community. How did such a universal cultural value emerge? An intriguing dissertation subject, but I don't hold the answers.
My personal preference is the beauty of olive complexion skin. Splotchy, pale skin looks rather ugly in my view....and I'm a red head.

it's terrible. i wish that we could get past it. i remember when i was younger, being light skinned was a huge honor! (ignorance at it's best!) if you were dark skinned, it was considered to be a birth defect! it was ridiculous! it still exists today. when you look at television shows and commercials, you still see light skinned actors with curly hair (back in the day it was called "good hair"!) being used to represent the black population. there is nothing wrong with that as long as dark skinned actors get the same exposure. unfortunately, that is not the case. i hope it changes one day.

In my book people are people the color of their skin has nothing to do with. Live and love life and stop warring about being treated unfairly.

I have the most BEAUTIFUL grandchildren!!! (Theyr'e are two biracial(black and white), one is Indian and white, the last being white) I see that Love truely does not SEE color! The one's without that knowing of oneness and love are missin' out. We are all so beautiful(no I'm not on anything)!!
