what does suspension,colloids and solutions mean?

Suspension: think of salad dressing, like Italian, the particles (herbs) are floating in the liquid- they are suspended; hanging in there.
Colloid: isn't a solid or liquid: think of shaving cream, whipped cream or Gel
Solution:mix salt into water,stir. sugar etc. it dissolves and you can't see the little pieces.
