erythromycin causes diarrhea in some ppl and one of the frequent side effects is vomiting. If it doesnt stop, call your dr and ask for something else.
Other side effects include mild nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach pain (taking erythromycin with food or milk may help avoid these effects).
Stop using erythromycin and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:
· chest pain, uneven heartbeats, feeling light-headed or fainting;
· nausea, stomach pain, low fever, lost appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes); or
· diarrhea that is watery or bloody.
Before taking erythromycin, tell your doctor if you are taking
· digoxin (Lanoxin);
· disopyramide (Norpace);
· warfarin (Coumadin);
· theophylline (Theo-Dur, Theobid, and others);
· midazolam (Versed) or triazolam (Halcion);
· ergotamine (Ercaf, Cafergot, Ergostat, Ergomar) or dihydroergotamine (D.H.E. 45, Migranal);
· carbamazepine (Tegretol), phenytoin (Dilantin), or valproic acid (Depakote, Depakene);
· tacrolimus (Prograf);
· cyclosporine (Sandimmune, Neoral);
· lovastatin (Mevacor) or simvastatin (Zocor);
· bromocriptine (Parlodel); or
· other antibiotics

have you tried something for diarrhea, like imodium? you can buy it over the counter at your local drug store or walmart, target, walgreen's, etc.
also if you are having more than 5 or 6 loose stools per day be sure to replenish fluids. avoid fruit juices because they are high in sugar and will draw more fluid into the colon and make diarrhea worse. try eating some bananas and starches also to help firm up the stools. if this continues you may want to see a doctor. uncontrolled diarrhea can lead to dehydration, which can be very serious.

Aboslutely.....don't think I have met the person with a stomach strong enough to handle the both of them without an upset stomach. Drink lots of water to replenish yourself, but consult your doctor about the chance of a decrease in potency with your bi-polar medications. If you can't keep anything in your system, it may not be helping to its full ability right now.

I doubt it is the combination of the two meds together but probably caused by the antibiotic itself. You should contact your doctor before you get yourself in worse condition by becoming dehydrated. good luck.

Erithromycin is famous for causing stomach/intestinal problems. Let your doctor know. He/she may want to give you something else.
