Why do people assume I can't jump or dance because I'm white?

I was told that if I didn't quit eating so much watermelon I would turn black! I didn't, I didn't understand it then and still don't. Fried chicken was the only thing my Grandmother used to make for Sunday dinner. And we are not southern either! I was hoping someone could tell me the relation.

Well, unfortunately that statement is a stereo-type. There are many stereo-types about a lot of different people and different things. They might not always be true and that's what sucks, but what can we really do to change the minds of every single person?

Thats a stereotype that many people think about black people, and it deosn't have to be true all the time. People who think this way are close minded because they dont want to look beyond a persons color. I should no because I'm also black myself.
