True!!! I used to ride my bike up a very very steep track surrounded by woodland. An extremely large black leopard used to keep up with me on the other side of the field. Quite what its intentions were I have no idea. I think it was missing human company. Whatever, I always carried a baseball bat and reported the animal to the RSPCA and the police. One day it had disappeared and I have not seen it for over two years. Maybe the authorities do not want to get the public frightened!

Apparantly true.
I saw a documentary on this a couple of years ago. Apparantly in the 60s/70s people people were allowed to keep big cats (leopards, tiger etc) as pets. And of course it was another of those status symbols, so it was popular among the 'in' crowd. Eventually a law was passed saying that you had to have a licence to keep a big cat as a pet, or else give them up to a zoo. However, it is thought that some people let their Cat loose into the wild and have been able to live in the wild, secretly, breeding just enough to sustain a small individuals.

I asked this question a little while ago and I think your answers are a bit better. I have seen scratches on a tree, about 4 to 5 feet up, that seemed a bit suspicious, quite long and deepish, in a wood near my house. I also have a photo of a big paw print, without claw marks, which I took in a wood, also near Nottingham. It was about 5" across.
Hardly going to set the world on fire, but it makes you wonder. There are plenty of rabbits around, so food shouldn't be too hard to come by.

True, they are outgrown pets, people bring them back from abroad when they are cute and then when they become a handful they release them into the wild. As to how they bring them in, there are a large number of pleasure boats that are seaworthy and many people holiday abroad on them, and it's easier to bring a small animal into the country than it is an asylum seeker.

There's loads of them about. Especially where I live. Lots of credible witnesses have seen them - policemen, farmers, doctors, post-master, etc.
Photos of a big cat from 20yrs ago were released by Norfolk (I think) police recently.

probably false if it was true they would be species of large cats like lynx or manx released by private collectors in the uk, theoretically there is enough wildlife outhere for them to survive rabbits voles foxes, badgers etc.
