Well it depends, how old are you? If you are young, then I don't think you should be hanging out with younger people on motorcycles only because it could be dangerous. Your mother is just looking out for you, and I'm sure she's just being protective of you.
I don't think it's true that all people who drive motorcycles are automatically "bad" people. I think that's being judgemental. My friend drives a motorcycle and he is one of the sweetest guys I know. It's just a stereotype that people who drive motorcycles aren't good people.
Perhaps she is just looking out for your safety and isn't concerned with the people who are riding these motorcycles. Try and talk to her about it to see why she doesn't want you hanging out with them. If it's because of your safety, maybe you should listen to her. I mean going for a ride with someone who is experienced is one thing but just make sure they know what they are doing and that you are going to be safe. Then assure your mom that. She might still refuse, and you should listen to her. It may seem unreasable but she is your mother and you should respect her wishes.
If it is because she doesn't like the people that usually drive motorcycles, then explain to her that it is just a stereotype. Maybe she would feel more comfortable if she met them? If she still isn't having it, then I think you should listen. If that is the worst of your problems, then that's good! You should always pick your battles wisely. I would think this is one not worth picking. Your mom is just looking out for you because she loves you. Even if she is not always right, you should listen to her because she always has your best interest at heart. Good luck =)!

motorcycles come with an image. I lost a number of girlfiends to parents who didn't appreciate my bikes. I won a lot of other parents over after they got to know me, and many let their daughters ride with me.
First impressions are tough. You have no idea what your parents are going through. Sounds like they love you a lot, and are over-protective. They hear "motorcycle" and the danger flag goes up and they go into "protect" mode. They aren't being jerks - they are being parents.
Have your friends prove to you and your parents that they are responsible on bikes (I took one girl's mom for a ride first once she trusted me, she changed her mind after that). Not saying your mom will go for a ride, but you never know (there might still be a wild child under there somewhere).
If they still dont, not to worry, you will soon be in a position to make up your mind as to what is safe and reasonable for you.

Motorcycles are scary. If you make a mistake in a car you dent a fender, on a motorcycle you dent a person. It takes boldness to drive a motorcycle, and to parents boldness sometimes equals brash. They are worried about you.

maybe mom needs to shake the bad boy images of the guys who ride motorcycles. she is also probably concerned that if you get into an accident, your likelihood to get injured is much greater than being in a car. make sure they insist on making you wear a helmet and that they won't try to imitate evil kenievel. she will soften up once she hears these words.

i am a thirteen year old girl and my parents ride harleys. Everyone classifies us as "REBELS" They think that they raise there kids to grow up to be in the hells angles and believe me they do not. I get straight a's and I love doing sports. I do tae kwon do and yes Dirtbike riding. Try that first. Maybe your friends can get into that too. Then your parents will understand. take them with you after a while.

many stereotypes are placed on people.....bikers are considered hostile, violent people and it brings up the images of the "Hells Angels" the most violent motorcycle club around.
But i can reassure you that is just plain false rumors...I myself ride motorcycles...and i am a preacher...i am also great friends with a sober bike club...everyone is into motorcycles now days...they are cheaper on gas and fun too....
i am a woman and my kids all ride with us to different places across the states...stereotypes are hard to break...give it time
