Just substitute the value 10 for the x's in the equation:
4(10+1)+5(10)-2=
4(11)+50-2=
44+50-2=92

Plug in 10 where ever you see the letter x
4(10+1)+5(10)-2
Distribute 4 to the 10 and the 1 that is in the parenthesis
40+4+5(10)-2
5 times 10
44+50-2=92

just plug in the value of x (which is 10 ) in every x you see...it's really not that hard...

4(10 + 1) + 5 (10) -2

=

44 + 48

=

92

You answer it. 10+1=11; 4 x 11=44
Now 5 x 10=50 minus 2 = 48
44 + 48 = ?????
