yea my emachine uses intel i think that the chips gets to hots and it burn and i got compact and it use amd septron

nahh intel is not that good my comp auto restar when it good hot unlike intel just burn out

It depends on what you are looking at. Speed for gaming? intel extreme, core2duo. Price? Amd Turion64X2 are much cheaper for same speed as core duo processors.

it depends on what u r trying to build. if u r building a gaming machine then u go for amd. amd r good when u run an app at a time like when u play games, u only run the game. else, intel is a better choice for u. if u got the cash get a core duo. intel is always the perfect choice when comes to multitasking and multiprocessing. heat is not a problem now both intel and amd r far cooler than their earlier chips. even if u think the heat is too much, cough up a small amount of cash and get a third party cooler. try 'Arctic Cooling' cooling solution. a simple heatsink and fan will be good enough. with this installed u get lower temperature ofcourse and also u get extra performance. i've tried this on intel.

amd runs colder then intel is hotter in temp so far i had good luck in amd i running 2 amd 3600 on a 64 motherboard and the temp is cool and time will tell no differt in speeds of cpu
