so usually, i download my songs manually and then afterwords, i delete the songs from my library (don't know why but i do). Now, there's something wrong with my ipod and i need them to fix it but i don't want to lose all my songs because i don't have them in my library. Is there a way where I can save my songs in my library without them being in my computer hard drive? please help!!!

U can reset your Ipod. I think if you keep holding the middle button, and the up button. (I 4get which button that is). But it will reset, and it WONT delete all the songs.

if you have a windows....
be carefull, its possible to screw up ur ipod this method

the easy option is to download a program that does it for you

OR...

connect your ipod
select my computer
open ipod under list of drives (might be called E:\, F:\, or G:\)
at the top of the window, select tools then folder options
select the tab named view, and select show hidden files/ folders
press ok
in the window you should see a hazy folder named ipod or library...im not sure at the moment.
select another folder named files or music and you should see lots of files named GX620956 and other random names like that
SELECT ALL OF THEM and then COPY them into a new folder on ur computor
then just import them like u would any other song

be carefull tho, tampering with the hidden files poses a great risk. i would procede with caution, as it is possible to screw up and corrupt your ipod. if you are not computor savvy i would not recomend doing it this way. just download a program
