I just got off the Ortho Evra patch after seeing numerous health warnings on the news. I don't want the patch anymore and I'm trying to find an alternative to pills. So if there are any women out there that are pleased with their birth control or could recommend one that would be great. Oh and I don't want the Depo shot either.

Yasmin. Helps keep weight off instead of gain weight, had no side effects on me, and i know of no one that got pregant on it. I do know of people who have gotten pregant on orthotricyclen - me my sister and the dr's daughter! while continously takening it and not missing a day. LOL, So i do know you should avoid that one.

I think depo is amazing. I have been on it for 3 years. You only need the shot every 3 months and it is very quick and very easy. I have only gained 2 pounds in 3 years and i do not have my period...ever. Which means, no cramping, no bleeding, no dealing with tampons, and pads, no telling the boyfriend that you cant have sex. I really do recommend it. Also, if you are afraid of needles, the shots are very painless. I rarely even feel them.

Nuva Ring is great. I've been on it for about two years now and I think it's wonderful. You put the ring in for three weeks and take it out for one week (that week you will get your period). I've had no bad side effects. My periods have gotten lighter and shorter, down from 6-7 days to now 3-4 days. You only have to think about it every few weeks, so there's no forgetting.

Although I'm not a girl (somehow I clicked on the wrong question, sorry), my dear, going totally abstinent is the best until marriage. Best birth control. No money involved and no incidental pregnancy to worry about either.

I really like Ortho Tri-Cyclen. It's worked the best for me for the past four years. You just have to remember to take it religiously.

I have an IUD (copper T) No problems at all. Don't even know it's there. I have only one partner (and no one else for 10 years). I don't know your situation, but they are not good for people that have multiple partners due to the risk of infection.

I like 'the pill' and want to try the nuva ring. Ask your doctor.

just a thought, why not try natural methods? like calendar or basal body temp and use it with artificial methods like condoms maybe? they have relatively low side effects..
