-Went to a Concert last week in Albuquerque.
-Godsmack, Rob Zombie, and Shinedown played.
-Waited two months, drove 8 hours, got there 4 hours early to get a good spot.
-Wouldn't let us bring alcohol in. :(
-Went through the whole concert sobor.
-Bands began to play.
-Standing front row, I realized I could still hear myself talk.
-Singer's microphone was set wrong.
-Couldn't hear any lyrics from in the pit.
-There wasn't even any real pushing, shoving, or moshing in the pit.
-The entire crowd seemed mellow, relaxed, and calm in spite of rock music.
The bands all seemed really upset that the crowd wasn't going crazy over the music.
Exactly what was the major factor that has the most impact in making concerts suck like this?

The lack of drugs and alcohol can really mellow a crowd. That's why people drink and get drugged up at those things.
Noise controls can dictate the sound level. I'm sure you don't want to have to listen to New Kids on the Block at 11p.m. from a concert across your street. You also might actually want to keep your hearing when you are 40.
Albuquerque is a fairly conservative city in a Republican state (hence their alcohol and probably noise policy). Don't expect conservatives to beat themselves up.
Bands do have that reactions. I saw one of my favorite bands play at a local bar. Another band had dropped out. The posting said it was going to start at I think 7 p.m. they didn't get there until 10p.m. So here are two bands playing. Like 10 people showed up, mostly because it was a Wednesday night and the bar usually plays bands on the weekends (even the bartenders didn't know bands were going to play, but the MC showed up in a bad mood because of personnel problems and told them). I was the only one who knew who the band was and they played for like 20 minutes ( 4 or 5 songs). Why because they said the crowd wasn't really there. I did get to talk to them though and it was for free. I couldn't buy anything off of them because the merchandise was at the drummer's girlfriend's house.
I listened to a House of Blues concert online where you could hear the people eating and talking in the background. The band played on though.

Actually you're wrong... Smoking weed increases your chances of success, here is a 5 day on and off weed, see how dramatically my stats were... Reason is focus and my stress level Not on Weed: Monday: 20-9 Tuesday: 19-10 Wednesday: 12-7 Thursday: 10-5 Friday: 1-6 ( got pissed and nerd raged) Days on the weed : (Not some dirt weed, some Northern Lights, or some OG Bubba) Monday: 45-2 Tuesday: 55-4 Wednesday: 49-1 Thursday: 50-3 Friday: 48-0 As you can see smoking weed increases your skillz and get you some big boobies IRL

Good crowds can be mellow the band should have seen the crowds reaction and set the sound right. Some times I have seen a band one night in one state and the same band a few days later in another state and it is like a whole new show based on the setup, sound and crowd. Some time the crowd can be overwellming and you can't enjoy the show.

Make sure next time if you want to go to the concert...
1) Read reviews about their concert and often the same everywhere for the tour.
2) Choose ONLY international/ well-known artists who suit to yur genre and worth your money and time like U2, Bryan Adams, Green Day, The Eagles and etc.
3) Select World Tour ONLY! Big Playes could afford/willing to provide good sound system to the audiences to maintain their world's reputation, the seats are all properly and systematically located/numbered in the stadium. Plus, the lighting, the sound and ambience could leave you with good appreciation, admiration and experience.
4) Pick the right venue ie. indoors stadium (preferably) and bring 2-3 close friends along.
Goodluck!

The crowd. If the crowd is into the show, then the band gets into the crowd and performs at a higher level.

I just went to the tool show last weekend and i was disappointed in their little laser light show. I mean c'mon. Tool using laser lights? They are definately more creative than that.
