Well, that's not exactly an accurate statistic unless you mention the differences between us and our northern neighbors. Canada has a little more than 1/10th of the US population. Gun ownership laws in Canada are more strict than those in the United States as well, so access to guns may not be as easy as here.

That said, the US has a HUGE problem with gun violence, and capital punishment appears to be having little to no effect. Rather than evaluate the punishment after the crime, we must do more to combat gun violence at the start. Increased efforts to get guns off the street, harder gun-ownership requirements and even just restricting the sale of ammunition could have a dramatic effect on our problem.

So there have been just some numerical analyzes carried out, and for sure it is confusing to offer numerical data. in one learn, although, Stephen ok. Layson, an economist on the college of North Carolina, Greensboro, confirmed that the loss of life penalty deters crime. He argues that each and each execution interior the united states from 1933 to 1969 led to 15 fewer homicides. factors that shrink the effect on capital punishment for sure incorporate the rather long appeals technique. i think of it ought to be argued that a short appeals technique would make the capital punishment greater actual and contemporary to potential villians.

Well, Canada has much stricter gun control laws than the United States. Maybe the US needs to think about that.
