Witch Hazel is great for bites. It is very inexpensive (like $1.50) and really works. My husband stepped in a yellow jackets nest ( small Bee or hornet) type bug. his legs were covered and he was going crazy from the itch. I applied this a few times and voila! He is also allergic to cortizones. Also great for a lot of other things(acne ect). You can get it in regular or a mint, near the peroxide at the drug store.. Good luck!

There is a stick you can buy that's called AFTERBITE, not sure how sensitive your skin is, but it stings the itch right out of it, calamine lotion, or ice. I make a cross over the bite with my nails for it to stop itching, it might help a little bit.
My sister was allergic to mosquito bites and had to take an antihistamine to help the itch, hope it's not that bad !

You know what really works for me,and I always do it when I get a mosquito bite.I get a cigarette lighter and I hold it upside down while lit and I get the chrome part hot.I touch the bite with the hot lighter, but I do it quick, don't hold it on the bite where you suffer from a severe burn.Just lightly touch the bite, the itch is gone immediately.Or I take hot water and soak the bite, works the same way.

Mosquitos normally come in the night say after 6:30 pm. So close all your windows at that time. And keep them closed till you sleep. I mean, before you switch off your lights when you are about to sleep, open the windows. Mosquitos get drawn to light sources, so if you have a light on you will see them coming from the window. Now try this, it works for me

Rubbing alcohol for sure. Put some on it. It might sting a little but it takes the itch right off

Caladryl or Benadryl lotion doesn't contain cortisone. It's made for insect bites.
I've also heard of wetting an anti acid tablet(Rolaids,Tums) and setting it on the bite.
Witch Hazel can be used for insect bites too.

Might sound crazy but try a product with menthol in it like BenGay. The more menthol the better. Works great!
