Many things, but you may want to eliminate dairy and beef from your diet.
Its full of hormones and is WAY too much stimulation for the female body to handle.
My mother has this issue- though she has no ovaries, when she eats beef or dairy that is not organic and hormone free, she has "pains in her ovaries" -- and they're not even there!! That's how severe and full of chemicals that stuff i--
Even if this isnt the cause, I SERIOUSLY urge you to consider doing this. It is a win-win situation- it wont be bad for you to eliminate those foods from your diet. It can only help you.
Go for all organic beef & dairy if you really want to eat it still. It's worth the difference in price.
Yu may not know how what you do today will affect you many years from now--- and if this is something cumulative, then it makes good sense to take protective measures now and do what you can to give your body a helping hand.
Also, it is common for women ( I think ) to have 'imbalanced' sensations. Mine go from side to side depending on how far along in my cycle I am....
But if it is too much to bear, the best advice, though it doesnt help you immediately or save you the bill, is to see your favorite doctor/obgyn who will listen and whom you trust, to handle this well.

When you have your period it's like all month long your body has been making a nest. Then after the 28 days your body cleans out the nest & starts over because there was no sperm or egg to take care of in the "nest". So when these things are straightening themselves out, your ovaries & fallopian tubes, etc. have alot of work to do. One of your sides is working harder than the other! Cramps in general suck, eh?

It could be your fallopian tube when your
egg is released you experience more pain
from the right side. I'd go see your doctor
to rule out anything else. Just to be on the
safe side. Might even be cysts.

It could be endomitriosis (spl), spots of uteran tissue that grow outside of the uterus on other organs. These spots bleed each month during your period and cause severe pain. They can be removed fairly easily with laproscopic surgery. Whatever it may be, you should get it checked out asap.

You have cysts on your ovaries. See the doctor and try some birth control pills. They can reduce the pain of the cysts by regulating the hormones.

It could be an ovarian cyst on that side. They're very common and usually they just come and go on their own.
