The average healthy couple usually takes up to six months to conceive. If there are other factors such as age, infertility...etc, it could take a lot longer.

go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler
This book will help you with all of your menstrual and conception questions. It’s for all women - not just women trying to conceive. It covers everything from temperature to mucus checking, etc.. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! It tells you how to figure out your cycle and what to expect. My husband and I tried for a year to conceive and nothing happened. The first month I used the book we conceived right away. Now I am due Feb 2. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

There are so many factors, it's hard to say. My husband and I were on clomid for 4 months before conceiving our first daughter. Then with our second we tried clomid for 2 months and had no results. After a break from trying while we waited for new insurance to kick in, we tried on our own for 2 months and got pregnant. It's different for everyone, so there is no telling. Good luck.

Conceiving is unpredictable and totally unique for each person. Stress and other factors can affect the process. People sometimes get overwhelmed with the situation and it seems to complicate the process.

Fertility problems can also slow or even halt any changes of pregnancy.

The best thing you can do is relax and hope things go your way. If you are not pregnant within six months, I would suggest both you and your husband visit your OB-GYN who can do testing for both of you.

I wish you the best of luck.

It can take up to a year for a fertile healthy couple and after a year of trying you might want to see a doctor (both of you) on fertility. It took my husband and I 11 months - dont expect it to happen right away...also when you least expect it - it will happen. Good Luck!!
